Maple Syrup in the Library Series: West Branch 2/14

Join us at the West Branch library on Thursday, Feb. 14th at 3:30 pm for the first of 3 “Maple Syrup in the Library” workshops! As part of the Somerville Maple Syrup Project, Groundwork Somerville will be offering educational, hands-on learning activities, book reading, and games in the libraries, geared towards kids ages 5-9. Each workshop is FREE and runs about an hour long; no need to RSVP, just come on down to the children’s area.
The first workshop, at the West Branch in Davis Square, will focus on what sap is and where it comes from, how to recognize maple trees, and when and how to tap. We’ll do a brief art project exploring tree anatomy, taste some sap, and participate in other fun learning activities!
