Maple Syrup Workshop @ the Library

February 12, 2011 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Check out this cool new way for Somerville youth to engage in the Somerville Maple Syrup Project:

Join us at the Main Branch Library during the four Saturdays in February to learn all about making maple syrup from urban trees in Somerville!   Meet in the Children’s Room at 11am.  Recommended for ages 6-9.  Limited to 15 kids on a first come, first served basis.

February12:  Tree trunks have layers?! What does each tree trunk layer do for the tree?  How do trees benefit our neighborhoods?  How do our actions impact trees? Does tapping for syrup hurt Somerville Maple Trees?  Join us to find the answers to these questions and many more!

Thank you to the Friends of the Somerville Public Library for supporting this programming.  Workshop series is free and open to the public.
