2026 Harvest Festival!
Join Groundwork Somerville on Saturday, October 3 from 12-4PM at our annual Harvest Festival!
Come see South St. transform into a vibrant celebration of the growing season and the incredible community that makes Somerville thrive. This free event celebrates the collective work of residents, volunteers, youth, and local organizations who help cultivate a healthier, more connected city.
See South Street Farm in full bloom and try your hand at natural dyeing, fermentation, or making an herbal balm–all using plants grown right here on our community farm. Workshop signups open at the beginning of the event, so get here early if you want to secure a spot!
Everyone is invited to contribute to a community art project that will live on the farm, meet the local organizations and artists tabling, and enjoy live music from the incredible musicians, Jade Faria and Los Mambiseros. Get ready to dance!
12pm: Harvest Festival begins! Time slot signups open for workshops on natural dyes, fermentation, and herbal balms
12:30-2pm: Jade Faria(opens in new tab) takes the stage for some Brazilian jazz
2:30-4pm: Los Mambiseros(opens in new tab) get everyone dancing with lively Cuban fusion
The event will take place on the farm at 138 South Street––if you enter “Groundwork Somerville” into Google Maps, you will NOT be directed to the event location, as that is our office address. See our Contact Us(opens in new tab) page for all our addresses!
Note on accessibility and the environment: South Street Farm is mostly paved, with one section of fine gravel and wood chips. There will be porta potties available, and Portico Brewing across the street has indoor facilities if necessary. South Street can be both hotter and colder than surrounding neighborhoods. The industrial surroundings make it hot in the sun, and a wind tunnel effect can make it quite windy.
