Applications are now available for the 2012 Garden Youth Crew!

Groundwork Somerville is offering an exciting opportunity for students entering grades 7 and 8 in 2012.  This summer, we will hire two crews of 5 youth each to maintain the gardens at Winter Hill School and the Edgerly Center.  Crew members will work 4-6 hours a week for 6 weeks from July 9^th through August 17^th.  In recognition of their care of the gardens and completion of the program, each member will receive a $50 stipend at the end of the summer.  Youth will join a team that is dedicated to learning about working in urban gardens, growing and harvesting fresh herbs and vegetables, creating value-added garden products, and cooking, serving, tasting, and selling fresh veggies within the Somerville community.
