Volunteers needed for Spring School Gardens

Groundwork Somerville has several volunteer slots open in our Spring Elementary Garden Programming! 

Garden Education Assistant: from March 26th-June 8th (10 weeks), Hours 2+ hours/week , unpaid/volunteer

Garden Education Assistants will assist in nature/gardens programming in Groundwork Somerville’s after-school “Garden Arts” clubs this spring. You’ll help run activities involving the arts, gardening, and nature with groups of 8-12 students, grades K-5. All programs operate during after-school hours (2:30-5:30pm) on the same schedule each week, so you need to be able to commit to one day (1-2 hours) per week for the full 10 weeks of the program. Experience working with youth ages 5-12 and comfort being outside and dirty required! Please email cover letter and weekly availability to Lee Dwyer at ladwyer@groundworksomerville.org

    Spring is the time when nature and your garden awakes and comes alive after the long winter. That first spring flower or that first green leave is the sign that winter in coming to an end and that a new growing season has arrived.
